Trapped
Gloomy walls of shadows
on my tail.
Rooms and rooms and rooms.
Lost.
Windows are locked, no getting out,
but the gleam of the full moon shows through.
I look back
and see the fire in his eyes,
Determination and capture.
Old mangled bandages
cover his ancient body.
A Mummy.
Running, no use
he still finds me.
I cry and cry,
toss and turn.
I try to wake up
but the tears have dried my eyes shut.
I can’t open them.
Can’t sneak away.
How long will this go on?
My eyes bolt open in horror.
Panting and panting.
The room is dark.
I shut my eyes again,
and fall asleep.
Another attempt at escape.
