Paint me a picture,

One to erase the lies.

Paint me a butterfly,

A simple disguise.

Paint me a picture,

One to wipe away my tears.

Paint me a flower,

Let the petals caress my fears.

Paint me a picture,

One to give my heart a hug.

Paint me the sun,

Make me feel snug.

Paint me a picture,

One to evaporate my fright.

Paint me the grass,

The green very bright.

Paint me a picture,

One that stops my shake.

Paint me the wind,

Bring my soul to a wake.

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece as a way to tell myself that the better days would eventually come. I used to look down on things I couldn't change instead of being positive. The picture is my life. I'm telling myself to paint life beautifully. After all, it's mine.
