300 Spartans
The training is for only the best
tired and weary will get no rest
Out of the frying pan and into the fire
A spartan heart is what they desire
The battle rages with the Persians in charge
Their talent is little but their army is large
Through thick and thin 300 prevail
They tried their best but were destined to fail
What the prophet spoke was leading them well
But they still went to fight till the last one fell
The deaths of a few is a small price to pay
For all of the persians that are now left to decay
The wall of the dead was a sly little trick
But the might of their army left barely a knick
With an ambush from the side, they went over the summit
Hundreds on hundreds left shrieks as they plummet
King Xerxes is getting impatient now
He asks one more time if the spartans will bow
With their last strength they defy him once more
Xerxes replies with one word, au revoir
The war is still raging between the two powers
They fight through the night and for endless hours
An enemy messenger comes to the spartan side
Before he can reach them a single arrow does glide
Through the air it pierces his weary heart
And the endless fighting they will restart
The numbers game is in the king’s hand
Now he expects he will be able to expand
Where 300 Spartans Faced 10,000 strong
their inevitable Fate they could only prolong
At Thermopylae; Sparta’s Final frontier
300 soldiers knew the end was near
With a shuddering gasp Leonidios Fell to the ground
And with that his empire came tumbling down
