Listen...Listen...
A pencil meets with paper
and rhymes are written down,
words are strung together
forever to be bound.
A writer and a story
conjoined; they now are one,
the simple act of listening
somethings now begun.
An author cannot lie
and stories are not true,
but they re not supposed to be
when no ones listening to you.
An author will not tell you
what her words shall mean,
but if you listen carefully
there is meaning to be seen.
