The monster waits,
slowly consuming,
until you’re sucked,
and left assuming.

Instability growing,
as the fear increases,
just preparing to tear,
self-esteem to pieces.

Accusations begin to form,
but never leave the mind,
satisfaction dwindling,
reason is blind.

Until doubt is silent,
the monster still grows,
creating internal havoc,
none can oppose.

I have always struggled with jealously, and have found that keeping it inside just makes it worse. After writing this poem, I found the courage to ask about things I was jealous about and to find out if my assumptions were correct.
