Only Half Awake
Some dreams, I cannot tell
If they are dreams or if they're real.
I emerged, from sleep to life,
alone, awaking out of fright.
(Afraid of what, I couldn't say)
Dazed in suddenness I lay.
I still seemed to be nestled
cozy into a dream unsettled
Imagination wouldn't recall
what had happened at all.
I was so close to remembering
the pageant of my slumbering;
I thought conscious I'd returned,
but truly I could not discern.
Reality is but a ghost
that means to trick a girl the most,
haunting shy in every corner
but never giving hint of horror.
