see the people everywhere
shunning, spitting, with wicked stares
this man was to die for what we've done wrong
enduring excrutiating pain all night long
he has let them see what he can do
healed their brothers, sisters, and mothers too
but none the less they cast him away
no matter what anyone had to say
they watched as men beat him down
as he wore nothing but a frown
saying "Forgive them Father, for they don't know"
and the floor begins to glow
as his blood fills the ground
and still these people have not yet found
the glory and grace that is our Lord
even though he sent his son to give his word
and die on a cross for all of our sin
so that we could be pure again
