Bells Chime Birds Chirp
Bells chime, birds chirp, Elena awakens
She ties two bows in her pigtails
Slips on a dress and ballerina shoes
Kiss for mommy and daddy, off to the bus
Her first day of first grade,
“I’m Johnny” Says the boy in her class
Elena smiles
“Let’s be best friends” He whispers
“Forever” She says
Bells chime, birds chirp, Elena awakens
She slicks back a messy ponytail
Throws on a pair of sneakers and jeans
Hug for mom and dad, off to the bus
Her first day of sixth grade
She sees Johnny, they talk and laugh
“Elena, lets always stay friends”
“Forever” She says
Bells chime, birds chirp, Elena awakens
She straightens her hair and brushes on mascara
Picks out a skirt and tank top
Wave to mom and dad, leaves the house
Her first day of ninth grade
Johnny takes her to school in his car
They hold hands, kiss, and laugh
Its young love
“We’re meant to be” He smiles at her
“Forever” She says
Bells chime, birds chirp, Elena awakens
She curls her hair and places the veil on her head
She slides on a Cinderella ivory white dress
Mom cries tears of joy; dad walks her down the aisle
Her big day, hair dancing in the wind
