"It's not why you're running it's where you're goin', it's not what you're dreaming but what you're gonna do, it's not where you're born it's where you belong, it's not how weak but what will make you strong." ~U2

Burning
Fingers ache and blister—
But why would you care?
I only play out my heart for you
till the darkness of night fades to dawn

Longing
for a day when the songs
seep through cherry wood
and into your ears, where you can hear
everything I’ve wanted to tell you

Carving
from a living tree, shaped
by an artist’s hands
a work of great beauty and power:
bass guitar—when words fail music speaks

Daunting
is my fierce weapon, shakes
the room with thunder
or moans softly like a sleeping god;
the foundation of all harmony

Holding
on tightly to the loom
where I have woven
the dreams and stories of time well spent
wishing that someday I could be yours
