Brittle masses of life regress back to the womb.

Withered layers of skin revert to an embryonic state.

Breathtaking and seductive curves transform into a premature umbilical cord.

Inhaling oxygen originally intended only for your mother.

Tasting fragments of home cooked meals. Unable to dicipher the origin of their savory appeal.

A tiny life source that can't feel joy, sorrow, or motivation.

Eyes wide shut to an arctic society.

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece in order to explore the journey of life. When you usually think about life, you think about the concept of progression. But in my poem, I am having the topic touch upon a middle aged individual regressing back into an infantile state. This exploration places a twist on our normal perception on life.
