Child of September

October 11, 2011
My goodness stop crying! You're driving them mad.
Sitting there sulking, always sad.

Child stop crying! They hear you in heaven.
It's eleven at night you've been crying since seven.

Please stop crying! You know they don't miss you.
Persecuted always because of the boy you let kiss you.

Just stop crying! I know it was your school.
Those jerks with all the kindness of a sharp steel tool.

Quit your crying! They don't care if your scars welt.
You're the one that hung on that tree by a belt.

Stop that crying! Nobody saw the signs of your demise.
They were too caught up in the gay boy they despised.

They hate your crying! Your sniffles and your sighing.
Did you want to be straight? Were you even trying?

We'll always love you forever and ever.
I want you to know that we'll always remember
the lonely, weeping child of September.
