Broken Dreams

Broken dreams and crystalline tears,
Forget all my sorrows and lose all my fears,
The light inside me is dimming,
As if my life is ending,
Like a bird that is caged,
How long must it age?
Forced to forget his past freedom,
How he longs to return to his kingdom,
But his master keeps him so tightly bound,
He fears his freedom will never be found,
So here I am lying awake,
In a prison that I cannot escape.
