More than That Girl
I sit here with nowhere else to go
Everything holding me to this chair
Everyone telling me I can only dream
Of whom I wish I could be
Of all the places I wish I could go
But they are wrong, someday I know I will go far

My arms grow weak after pushing myself so far
Relying on others everywhere I go
Other’s arms picking me up just to see
What is above my vision in this chair
Oh how I wish those arms could be
On me, that would be a dream

I hold onto every dream
Because dreaming can take me far
I can be anything I want to be
I can go anywhere I want to go
I can do anything I want to do
If I use my dreams to see

Even though others may not see
What reality could be from my dream
That one day I will rise from this chair
Dancing, running, jumping, ever so far
My legs taking me everywhere I go
Muscles and nerves being as they were intended to be
I believe everything is as it should be
Even if my life is not what I wish to see
Not at all how I planned it to go
As long as I continue to dream
And have faith, I know hope will take me far
Everything happens for a reason, even with me in a chair

My life was changed in that chair
I became someone I never knew I could be
My horizons expanding, oh so far
A brand-new perspective I now see
Experiencing miracles, better than a dream
Witnessed by those who love me and never let me go

Now my dream has come true and I can be
More than that girl in the chair
And now I will go far, farther than anyone could have hoped to see.
