I dreamt I was a firework last night:
the world was calm
and I was bright
above all the heads
drinking diet coke and sprite

I whirled from here
through the city dark
a spout of flame
and a finite spark
until the air had cooled
and the clouds embarked

I returned, of course
through the summer shouts
to the glee and grinning living
of the people all about
and as my spirals circled closer
I danced another acrobatic bout

and then the bright went out.
