Breathing Life into the Living
When people ask me what I do,
I say to them, “I’m Giving”
“I’m giving what I have to you
I breathe life into the living”
I sit upon a stage at night,
And play for all who listen
I play and Shakespeare I recite
The diamond sonnets glisten
I don’t get paid,
I just get made
A Pizza
And a chocolate Pie
And When You sleep,
I make a dream,
And you might wonder “why?”
And as for me,
Perhaps you’ll see
The magic that I weave
It takes not much
Away the crutch
And you will soon believe
So, when people ask you what you do
What will you say to them?
Will you loose the inner fire?
Will you write with golden stem?
Or perhaps you might say softly,
To the ones whose hearts are giving
“I take what has been given me,
And breathe Life into the living”
