"A Lost Soul"
I am hidden in the shadows, so no one can see me.
I am hidden in the shadows, where no one can find me.
I am hidden in the shadows, only to figure out that no one is looking for me.
I am hidden in the shadows, and I don’t know what will become of me.
As time goes on I become lonely,
I search and search and hope that someone will find me.
Time passes ever so slowly,
But people will never see.
I look around wondering how to find a way out.
The darkness is one that is hard to escape.
I look over at a water pipe as a droplet of water falls off its spout.
A woman heading home wraps herself in her warm cape.
I watch silently and hope for recognition,
But each time all I face is disappointment.
I hope to somehow get a premonition,
Of a face- to- face appointment.
As time goes on, I feel myself starting to fade.
As time goes on, it gets harder and harder to find my way out.
As time goes on, images blur and everything is wrapped in darkness.
As time goes on, there is eventually nothing left.
