Men go abroad to wonder at the heights of mountains, at the huge waves of the sea, at the long courses of the rivers, at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motions of the stars, and they pass by themselves without wondering. St. Augustine

a brush of mascara, an ounce of foundation. a pint of nail polish, the next shade sensation. a spritz of perfume, spray for your hair. an accessory or two, and even a spare. what are the reasons for why we care? we don't show what's underneath, no, we don't dare. for though we try to be 'perfect', it is in vain. but we still go through the daily routine of pain.

my boyfriend once told me i am the prettiest without any makeup on. who we are isn't made up of what we look like, but of our heart. maybe that's true. i know god is trying to tell us that too, but we never listen. how come we don't listen?
