Entreating gets you no where

Entreating gets you no where
when knocking at my door,
I shall surcease your knocking
if it's entrance you implore.
I stand with upon my countenance,
a decorum grave and grim,
for that ungainly craven
by the name of lordly Jim.
He spends his time beguiling
knocking on doors
just-a-smiling
and with no respite in sight
I grabbed a brick and sent it flying.
