The High Wire
I am trying to keep my balance
 On this wire, high above
Glance down at what my life should be
The life I used to love

I can’t keep up this act forever
Who will catch me if I fall?
The spotlight shines on me now
No one can help at all

Why was I chosen for this act?
 I didn't volunteer
All these thoughts and all these questions
They’re drowned out by my fear

 Fear of holding on
 Fear of letting go
 Of keeping things inside myself
 Of letting people know

I just want this to be over
To wake and find it was just a dream
Can you see me as I suffer?
Can you hear me as I scream?
