Vintage Valentine
Old in age, but young at heart,
The couple's love was off the chart.
The promise they had made long ago,
To keep each other when young and old.
The lady picked out her favorite jewel pin,
She then applied lip stick to her sweet little grin.
The nurse came in to help her get dressed.
She felt excitement building inside of her chest.
When he came to the door, her eyes became wet,
To her he was as handsome as the night they first met.
Into her frail hands he placed a rose.
With time only two's love grows.
Their fingers interlocked as they reached the cafe.
The hostess said, "If you would, please follow me this way."
Insects batted against the window pane.
The evening was modest, but perfect just the same.
