Unwinding

January 18, 2008

The wooden stage stands before me, shutting out the screaming audience.
Glitter shines like the stars at night.
As the lights dim with flowing music,
curious eyes lift me, unwinding my nervous heart.

I step on stage.

The adrenaline rush is a wild feeling I can’t control.
I make my first move and see smiles as I twirl.
Perfume lingers in the air, distant faces run through my head.
I have to do my best.

The beating music stops.
I feel my fragile heart freeze
It was my dream.

I was dancing
