Upon My Existence

I refuse to retreat into oblivion!
I refuse to be merely nodded at
rather than celebrated!
I refuse to have slapped upon me
the label reading "dispensable"!
I protest, with all the rage
that boils within me!
So do not cross my path
without substance--without base.
For I do exist,
And I refuse to be convinced otherwise.
