Walking Along
Walking along
 The sandy tile floors
 Of this ghost town
 Kids are sleeping
Up in the trees and parents are Fighting up in the clouds

 Walking along
 Watching sad faces
 Wishing they could live
 As they once did

 Walking along
 Watching the memories
 These people once made
 Drying my tears
 All the sad memories
 Are replaced by happy ones

 But not this one
 This sad young person
 Reading this sad young story
 Wondering what I'm talking about

 My friends
 You see
 This should be so familiar
 Children
 Mothers
 Fathers
 Sisters
 Brothers
 Taken from where they belong

 This poem
 This sad, confusing poem
 Can only mean one thing

 That walking along
 Watching the memories
 he faces
 The souls
 All cry
 As we sit in wealth
 And wallow in love

 Some people,
 That walk along
 The famine filled streets
 Aren't so lucky.
