Hearts in Glass

January 7, 2008
I cross my arms tight,
And heart to throat it flew,
And beat my heart did, fast.
And then I reached to you,
And I roll my heart in pieces of shattered glass.
Then I wish, forever, this moment would last.

I reach for you wanting,
I grasp at your hand.
I feel my hand in yours-
I don’t understand.
I look to you slowly, your eyes, oh, how vast.
Our faces much closer, our hearts beating fast.
