Waiting
I sit here waiting, jealous
I can’t wrap my mind around that you
Are with him, how dare he have the nerve
To take his time with you,
You are mine and mine alone
Can’t he see that destiny brought us together?
That WE were meant for each other?
Doesn’t he understand that your beautiful
Golden-brown skin belongs in my hands?
I stand by the window…. waiting
Waiting for you to arrive…
I CAN NO LONGER STAND THIS!
I wait by the door.
Like a dog waiting for his master to come home
AT LAST!
The doorbell has been rung!
I pick myself up and bolt for doorknob
I open it to see you in his arms, he smiles
And a tear of joy runs down my cheek
“Your total is 12.50 sir,” he says as he hands you to me
“Thanks bro! Keep the change,” I say hurriedly
As I throw the money at his face and slam the door
At last…. my hunger will be satisfied
