Dear Moon

The moon keeps my secrets,
Under lock and key.
Things that are frightening,
Things you can't believe.
He never says a word,
To the sun and the stars,
And not one thing,
To the small planet Mars.
He watches over me,
All night long.
I sleep so peacefully,
As he sings me a song.
The music drifts down,
From far away.
Through my window,
To where I lay.
And in the morning,
when I open my eyes.
I say to the moon,
My good morning goodbyes.
