Beautiful butterfly brightened
Up a freight train’s foggy
Steam swelling into the sunset.
Chugga, chugga, choo choo!
Boxcars bellowed below the brilliant
Colors- crimson, cobalt, copper, canary.
Watchmen waving as the train whisked
By friendly faces of 1950-
High heels and sock hops,
Chrysler, Dodge, and Dapper Dan’s,
Highway Hymns and handkerchiefs-
Vanishing into the velvety veneer sky.
Melodious mountaintops murmuring
The taunt tones in the night,
Broken by the bustling freight train...
