That Scared Little Girl

The pain,
The bleeding,
His men falling around him,
Those shots fired,
And when a man stands over him
And aims his gun,
To shoot for the kill,
He sees the helplessness in his eyes,
Like a scared little girl,
Who comes downstairs after her bedtime,
And sees her dad about to die,
And the dad says,
Its gonna be all right honey,
Its gonna be okay.
Stay with mama,
I love you.
And through her tears,
She watches her father die.
She cries for him,
But no one answers.
We’ve all seen the movies,
Played all the video games,
But this is no movie,
And it’s not a game,
It’s War.
