Dear Dad
No letter, no call
Not even a stupid card?
No that's not bad at all
I had my step dad after all
He's the one that's there for me
Most of all
After the end of it all
This is the father's love
I've come to know.
That forever grows between him and I
How do you comply?
If you even try.
Locked away to you in the shadows.
Yes, I know my daddy loves me.
Yes, I know he tries and tries.
It shows by how much he's with me
Don’t you think?
It shows by the alcohol on his breath
And his stench,
Don't you think?
When I can't even blink as his smoke fills my eyes.
No I don't mean to pry.
But I don't buy,
This pathetic front
You’re trying to pull
Over my crying eyes.

Did you hear about the rose that grew from a crack in the concrete. It learned to walk without having feet. Funny it seems, but by keeping its dreams it learned to breathe fresh air.
Long live the ROSE that grew from a crack in the concrete, when no one else even cares.
