Broken

There's a line in the sand,
That I can't cross.
I've been trying,
But it's always a loss.

Many doors were open,
But slowly they closed.
Now there's only one,
It's the way I chose.

The strings aren't attached,
I cut myself free.
I broke away,
From all the insanity.

I couldn't take the pressure,
I didn't want the pain.
I wouldn't have the tears,
I wanted something to gain.

My cell was too small;
No way to breathe.
I pushed it away,
I had to get free.

I found my solitude,
My reason to stay.
But soon it broke,
It all went away.

It's weird when friends
Are the only ones there.
When family's what you want,
But they don't all care.
