Don't Be Afraid
Think of all the fears, which make you blind
Crush them all and leave them, behind
What do you think of me?
How can you judge so easily?
Is it too hard to laugh, or hint at a smile?
Or does life always have to be a trial?
You remind me of a frequently oiled machine
No thought process, no tangible feeling
Afraid of the unknown, afraid of the blue
Too afraid to show your colors true
Mostly afraid of what lies beneath
The hard shell you have worked so hard to keep
So often what we feel, we have been taught to be wrong
In turn we are shunned, made to feel we don’t belong
Release your doubt, liberate your trepidation
Forget any previous reputation
You are who you are
Make yourself, before your life goes too far
