The Blind Man
What does the blind man see?
None of the world's travesty
none of the world's tragedies
What does the blind man see?
He doesn't see murder or envy or slaughter
He cannot see the mad man raping his daughter
What does the blind man see?
Not poverty, madness, crime, or tears
He cannot see his mother's face when she succumbs to her fears
He cannot see his father while he drinks from that bottle
As he replaces his wife with a much newer model
What does the blind man see?
They say ignorance is closing your eyes to the world
But what if you open them and everything swirls
Into a darkened, then blackened, but not sickening society
And you begin to lose all of your anxiety
What does the blind man see?
Only darkness, that's what the blind man sees
But if you were to ask me
I'd gladly trade eyesight and vanity
For freedom from sickening humanity
