The Silent Rose

Your forsaken eyes
Never again did reach me
But only glared
And slowly neglected my innocence
As if I was your worst nightmare
And at the same time your soon forgotten love

Our love was lost
And never again found
It lay like a withered rose
By a silent tomb stone
It may be forgotten now
But it’s past beauty
Will never fade away
Or be remembered here

Ashes to ashes
Age and neglect has been its end
But I can still see
Every petal
Move in different directions
As the wind passes by
And like the wind
My love for you
Might be swept away for now
But you will always remain the rose of my heart
For I will always visit the silent tomb
With its new found withered roses
And my unforgotten love
