This Is To The Kids

This is to the kids who garnish themselves in black
The kids who dare to break the ever silencing mold
The kids who are labeled evil and never cut any slack

This is to the kids who wear the pretty pink clothes
Who smile through the day and cheer on the team
Who are judged by how they look and labeled hoes

This is to the kids who never learned to bite their tongue
Who scream out the questions others are afraid to ask
Who never find the answers and are labeled young

This is to the kids who fight with depression
Who have to pretend to be alright in order to survive
Who fight the world everyday building up more and more aggression

This is to the kids who have seen a family break apart
Who have seen love come undone
Who have watched a father sadly depart

This is to the kids who grew up with the fight
Who were taught to use guns instead of words
The ones who let revenge take over their sight

This is to the kids who have watched another die
Who have listened to a friend's tears not knowing how to help
Who never got the chance to say goodbye

This is to the kids who were always the butt of the joke
The ones who were never given a fighting chance
The ones who's anger people began to provoke

This is to the kids who have felt there parents unwarranted wrath
Who spent days and nights wondering what they could of done
The kids finally walking down the very same path

This is to the kids who have cried themselves to sleep
Who have woken up to the wet pillow and a reminder of why it was there
The kids who only wanted to fall into a heap

This is to the kids who found a new way to deal with the pain
Who picked up the blade and watched their own blood flow
The kids who never expected one day they might hit the vein

This is to the kids who felt the world pressing down on their shoulders
Who took on problems that they were never meant to learn
Who fell a little more each day and grew colder and colder

This is to the kids who were told they were nothing
Who weren't expected to make it past their teenage years
The kids who listened to the voices, when they could have been something

This is to the kids who deal with pain everyday
Who think their alone with no one to listen
I want you to listen closely to what I say

These kids of our future are fading out fast
These kids of our future are being destroyed by our past
