Gulf Stream-ing Conciousness

I am a Gulf.
You know me for waves crashing on my crystal beaches.
My mother is the gentle rain.
My father is the storm at sea.
I was born as an iceberg in the North Pacific.
I live the life of a nomad, travelling from shore to shore.
My best friend is the first hurricane of the season,
because we like to cause havoc.
My enemy is pollution,
which robs me of nutrients and taints my clear blue complexion.
I fear winter,
with its dry days and cool nights.
I love summer,
because of the warmth its rays of light provide.
I wish for wide shores absent of development.
