Crushed

The silence echoes on and on as the wind sings softly to me
The sand feels cold against my feet
I'm crushed
But the tears come naturally to me
All those days of waiting
All those nights of dreaming
What are they good for?
Nothing
Like an eagle you swept in and stole my heart away
But then you left without a word, nothing else to say
It's sad to say, but I believed in you
I had high hopes
But, then, you made me realize that my belief in love is silly
That your feelings for me was just a joke

I'm crushed
But don't worry
The tears come naturally to me

The author's comments:
I wrote this poem when I had this crush on a guy and I though he liked me but then I realized that everything he did, all the smiles and the flirting, didn't mean anything; he hurt me. And he didn't even care.
