It's Dark

August 12, 2010
If betrayal had a flavour,
it's taste'd be bittersweet.
If betrayal had a heart,
I swear that heart, wouldn't beat.
But why does it happen to be,
a person wants the unattainable?
When it comes to me,
the reason for this is unexplainable.
But for you, I'd take a bullet,
I'd let it pierce my skin.
For you, I'd walk the thousandth mile,
to prove what could've been.

The midday sun shines,
but darkness creeps right through.
I have a choice on either one,
but it's darkness I pursue.
I see your face peaking near,
but I turn to run away.
I think about it once or twice,
as the darkness whispers "stay..."
I scream "No I cannot,
this love of ours is fake"
You answer from inside the abyss,
"It's you I'd wish to take"
You grab my hand with yours, so cold,
as I open up my eyes.
And soon as this happens, I can't believe,
but finally, the darkness dies.

So the moon kissed the sun,
as I stared into the light.
And I thought about that nightmare,
while 'today' soon became 'tonight'....
