So you wouldn't mind if I left, would you?"

What does a "no one" know?
Cold streets and dirt,
Often being hurt.
Empty stares,
Evil glares,
The beating of the rain,
Crying out in pain.

When the world seems so far away,
While people won't give you the time of day.
As you cuddle yourself to keep warm at night,
The stars staying bright, being your guiding light.

Alone and afraid you abandoned us here,
Awaiting is riches for you up there.
No person to speak of as you look down from above,
Who will remember the life you once held?

A "no one" knows a life much different then mine and yours.

This was a piece done for school. It is about a homeless man, and his life and death. How when people die they are remembered through family and friends, what if you had none? Who would remember your life? What was the significance of it? We are all trying to answer that, and deep down we all have a fear of being forgotten.

I loved this, especially the title. It had a great rhyme scheme and good rhythm. It was so true. Do any of us really know how it feels to be totally abandoned?
