The Turtle's Warning

While in the garden drinking tea
A turtle stopped by to talk to me
He said, ''What are you doing here?''
I blinked, confused, his question unclear
I asked what he meant but he only sighed
And answered ''You were supposed to die''
My eyes widened, this had to be a mistake
And as if reading my mind he gave his head a shake
''I'm sorry to tell you what I'm saying is true,
and I can't do anything to help you''
Without another word he crawled away
Leaving me there to wonder if I was okay
