I am from

October 22, 2007

I am from the deer antlers lifelessly
hanging on the wall of the basement
I am from the old piano sitting by the wall, waiting to be dusted
The crowd of magnets and pictures that redecorate my fridge
Even the old pennies rusting under my bed.

I am from the Beatles posters covering the sky blue paint in my room
The old creaky stairs leading to my attic
And the sweet smell of hazelnut filling the sun room as the sun sets an eerie orange glow on the walls

I am from the creek were vicious battles fought by carp and fishing poles took place
From "Welcome to life"
And "Get out of the kitchen!"

I am from the burning, smoke smell of quesadillas
The old tree fort rotting away until it falls on someone
And the gopher living under the shed taunting my dog.

I am from happiness when I am with friends and family.
