finally
finally
i’m free
i don’t have to live within the walls
the walls I call home
the walls I call school
i can finally experience something
something called air
i can run a thousand miles in any direction
see the serene sky
for more than five minutes
hear the chirps and melodies of every
type of bird in the world
touch the velvet grass
and lay myself down
in its layers of green blankets
smell every type of flower
jump into an immense pile of leaves
watch the clouds form
impressive shapes
taste pure water
from a gorgeous waterfall

one thing saddens me
how did I get here?
i had to die

The author's comments:
i saw this scene in my head and it also included flashbacks of a girl reliving her death as she wonders why the weight of her shoulders has been lifted off. she was murdered the first time that she had thought to be the first time to be out into the open but she finds her self much more at peace now that she is resting in heaven. although she truly wished she could have found freedome in the world.

i had gone through stages where i had felt restricted but now i'm branching out. in this dream the girl seemed to represent me and wanting to have an outlet to finding it.

this is very interesting and i loved the imagery! however you might want to elaborate a little more, and the ending can be confusing if you didn't read what was in the quotations.. just work on the flow and elaboration , otherwise great poem!
