Ode To The Beach
The golden sunlight
In the clear blue skies
Warms my heart and gives me butterflies.
The cool green grass under the
Shady calm trees
Welcomes you back
From the sharp winter breeze.
My heart pounds harder
As I think of rain
No one can stop me from
Long lazy days and
Resting my brain.
You’re eighty, you’re ninety, nearly one hundred
You have my thoughts
All mixed-up and blundered.
Sun kissed tan
Lays on my nose and
Warm beach sand covers my toes.
Protection is needed in the red bold glow
White cream covers and starts the show.
Bitter sweet lip gloss
Tickles my tongue
Of cool mint green and hot
Summer fun.
Smelling the salt
And hearing his voice
Laughing out loud I have no choice.
Ripples hit my skin sending
Chills to my chin.
Inch-by-inch I make my way
Through the sea and back on the bay.
