If it Were Up to Me

If it were up to me
You wouldn’t be the way you are
So hard to get a hold of
So likely to get lost among the stars

So passive in intimate moments
So secluded the silence hurts
So easily guarded and grounded
But broken down with words

So close when I want to be open
So jaded, you’re beginning to fade
So cliché you should be trademarked
So early, you’re always late

It if were up to me
But then again, it’s not
It’s always up to you
I’ve simply just forgot
