I see you across the hall,
And I wonder if you'd care at all,
If I tell you how I feel,
Would you tell me it's not real,
That you don't like me and never would,
Even if I thought you could,
Would you say that we could never be,
And make me wonder what's so wrong with me,
Would you laugh at me for just one crush,
Poke so much fun it'd make me blush,
So in fear of your response and my regret,
I decide it wouldn't be a safe bet,
And as you pass a smile I'll fake,
Though you're the reason I lie awake
