"Our truest responsibility to the irrationality of the world is to paint or sing or write, for only in such response do we find the truth."
- Madeleine L'Engle

Everything I’ve done for you
All that you’ve refused to do
I held your hand as you crashed down
I picked you back up off the ground
I brushed off all the dirt
Helped you through your deepest hurts
I cared when nobody else would
I gave my strength when no one else could
I’ve been there through it all
But now, here comes this wall
Built between us
Dividing us
Over something silly,
Really
I cannot take this anymore
You needed me before
But now, I need you
True,
It’s been a while since we were young
But I thought we were among
The few who didn’t care
Would follow each other anywhere
I guess I was mistaken
