The Motionless

Laying unnoticed,
My former wife.
Siren rising,
one saw.
Turned her over,
heat baking down
in the parking lot.
Dead people put on weight.
In their flesh,
and in our minds.
Red on her face.
For years,
dormant in her head.
Blown like a tire,
killing her.
Still, swiftly enough,
she wouldn't have suffered.
One big black Nova.
Sensation, thought and gone.
Before she hit the pavement.
The funeral,
Dreamlike in my memory.
