Where Am I?

Where Am I?

I'm searching
across seas of infertile
truths,

pining
for the day I will
discover myself.

Like a book without pages
or a rose without its
devastating beauty
and sultry petals.

Like a bird without wings,
I cannot escape my harsh
prison.

I'm sitting
upon a lonely bench
in the middle of a quiet park,
where the only sound
is of the swings'
rusted mechanics
echoing into the unforgiving
darkness.

I am lost.

"This will certify that the above work is completely original." Caitlin Dingwall
