I am a lonely little tree
Born in 1943
I live right beside the sea
On the coast of Germany
I'm watching all the people die
I hear them scream and plead and cry
Fire rains down from the sky
It always makes me wonder why
Why everyone must seethe and hate
And be doomed to this awful fate
Why can't they abandon this state
And make amends before too late
A fighter plane approaches me
And shoots me down beside the sea
I am a little lonely tree
That never lived past '43
