Beguiling Love
We met last year in high school
But I did not know at first
The happiness you would bring me
Nor the cool, numb, urgent thirst
Introduced in the hallways
Of my freshman year
The fifty dollars that bought you
Has proved no where near
The joy that you provided
Amidst my disturbing life
The love that overcame me
Brought me meaning in my strife
Your lying ways and deceitful gaze
Stole through me as a poison
One I did not realize
Till your evil work was done
Its been ten months since the first injection
Since the first beguiling taste
Ten months since I began to wish
Your molevolent rule erased
Your freezing, biting, hurtful grip
Has entangled my very soul
With every breath, I’m wanting more
No matter the price or toll
Out of the darkness you brought me
To the place where we can be
Whatever we want to be
Safe and happy and free
My family doesn’t understand
The freedom wrought by your hand
But you make them fade away
They do not matter, not today
Freedom, please, I beg of you
So that I may this mess undo
My friends are gone, my family too
They could not stand the thought of you
Could not stand my obsession
Left me lifeless, cold, and broken
Fearing the influence you brought
The mindlessness when you I sought
I love you more than I can say
Can never from you be torn away
And though you stole my reality
I still live with you in our fantasy
My resolve is gone, and life has fled
Yet you do not stop till I am dead
Though your presence I can subdue
I will never be free of you
I love you more than I’ve loved before
Though through it all, you just want more
Your bitter, cruel demands have taken
My heart and left me torn, forsaken
We met last year in high school
When I became your slave
When you took my body, mind and soul
And lead me to my grave
