True Soldiers For Life
As true soldiers we’ll stand
Throughout any fight
In life
Or after death
With all of our might
Well never surrender
Until our last soldier falls
Then together we’ll be in our promised land
For family
For friends
And those we don’t know
We’ll fight for them all
With pride in our soul
But “true soldiers for life” means even more
Because it lives after death
And forevermore
For my father Dewayne
He was a soldier for sure
His soul carries on
And his pain is no more
He’s a very strong man
With a heart built of gold
He’d take the shirt off his back
For a man he didn’t know
He’d make you smile
No matter your or his mood
He tried so hard
But couldn’t take anymore
On July 9, 2009 he broke down
And surrendered his life
I just wish I could have said a last goodbye
He lives in my heart
And the memories shall never fade
Yes I still cry and wonder why he had to go
But my dad is a true soldier for life
